“I was never approached for Mahabharat”

Says Deblina Chatterjee who was last seen playing Alia in Star Plus’ Sajda Tere Pyar Mein…

Pretty actress Deblina Chaterjee who rose to fame after playing Alia in Star Plus’ popular show Sajda Tere Pyaar Mein has just finished shooting for her movie Aisi Deewangi and is now preparing herself to get back to television.

In a chat with us, Deblina shares, “I have just completed the shoot of my Hindi movie which is expected to release by the end of this year or the beginning of next year. It’s a romantic comedy movie in which I will be playing the character of Marwari girl from Rajasthan.” When asked about the news of she been approached to play Draupadi in the upcoming Mahabharat series for Star Plus, Deblina told us, “I have never been approached to play the character and I have no clue from where this rumor came.”

Deblina is thankful to her fans for their love and appreciation for her as Alia. She says, “People liked my character of Alia in Sajda. I got a chance to experiment with the role and got a chance to prove myself. I am open to play any kind of role but it should be entertaining and challenging and it should be a a show which works well in terms of TRP which is the most important thing for television. When I was in Rajasthan, people had come to me and gave me feedback about my character of Alia.”

So, what is Deblina busy with these days? She replied, “I am enjoying the monsoon by listening to a lot of music, some workout and I am working to improve my dancing skills.”

“I would like to thank all my fans Dua, Khushboo, Khushi, Meera, Zaynab, Charu, and many more for their lovely messages. They all behave like a real sister to me. There are so many such fans; sorry if I miss out the names but they are with me from the time of Sajda and I am really thankful to them,” concludes Deblina.
