Ruk Jana Nahin 27th September 2012 Written Episode

MATHURS’ – Tiwari’s room
Its for the first time in the past 1 year of watching RJN did I start the episode by laughing out loudly – because the opening scene was a helpless Sadanand giving his angered lady a pedicure/foot massage – all the while admitting his faults and begging for forgiveness!
‘I briefly forgot my ‘Goddess-like’ Radha Rani and ran behind that witch…I was a fool…please forgive me…’ the lawyer rants

However, the short-tempered Radha is not one to forgive him easily. She squashes all his requests and then shooes all of his affectionate advances with wrathful words. Why, she even orders him to take his place on the floor – he was definitely not allowed to sleep on the bed beside her!
Following her orders meekly, Sadanand squats on the floor with his hands folded (like one does in front of a deity) while he continues to beg for forgiveness.

HIDEOUT
Indu is losing his patience – Though Mishraji should have been there at the hideout quite a while ago, he was nowhere to be seen or heard of! Cursing the old man as a ‘Brasht Buddhi’ the frustrated Indu orders his friends to find out where the forgetful lodge owner might have wandered off to. He also reminds them to keep him updated by messaging him on his new number

MATHURS’
Sadly seated on his couch, Tarachand is adamant that he’ll not have food. Veena is worried, but Tarachand was a heart-broken man now. Just then the short spell of peace in that house is rudely disturbed when Sobha arrives and starts blaming the Mathurs – she felt that it was because of Sanchi that Manwa was now behind bars! Seizing the opportunity, Radha arrives in no time and jumps to the lady’s support by admonishing Sanchi.
However, Radha is in for a rude shock when Sobha ends up equally blaming Sadanand and Indu for all of the mess too! LOL
Once having finished with her loud babble (thank the Lord!), the lady then storms out of the house.

HIDEOUT
Indu Singh is on the phone appearing profoundly agitated and unnerved! His friends had just informed him that Mishraji was missing. The man was nowhere to be found in the vicinity of the lodge and none had heard of his whereabouts either.
Once he cuts the call, he informs Sanchi about the same ‘I don’t know whats going on…who’s behind all of this…’
‘I am frightened…like something’s going to go wrong!’ she replies anxiously
‘What’d go wrong?’ he ponders worriedly ‘I don’t understand anything…’
Just then, they hear the sirens of the police vans approaching their hideout – Mishraji must have alerted the police about their whereabouts!

Desperate, Indu wonders how to escape from the place. For a moment he catches Sanchi’s hand and is about to lead her away when Sanchi removes his grasp ‘No Indu Singh… we wouldn’t run anymore’
Irked by her rebuttal, Indu questions her back ‘You want to surrender now? We’ve had this discussion a million times and I don’t want to surrender now…’
‘I’m not asking you to surrender!’ Sanchi yells back – her voice reflecting an assertiveness that’d gone missing for a while now ‘Please try to listen to what I have to say’

Meanwhile, the police are shown closing in on their hideout. After a while, they finally barge in through the main door – their guns pointed in the direction of Indu and Sanchi.

Indu sceptically adresses the man walking in with a gun facing them ‘Welcome Inspector Balram!’
Interrupting their exchanges, Sanchi steps forth to the inspector ‘You can arrest us…’ she pauses ‘But you have to listen to what I have to say’
The inspector curtly refuses to listen to her, which gives Indu reason to taunt Sanchi’s trust on them ‘I told you didn’t I?’
Hearing the remark, Balram angrily grabs Indu by his arm but Sanchi raises her tone – thus managing to grab the man’s attention and curiosity!

Following his instinct thereafter, Balram orders his aides to shut the main door and to remain outside on guard! Once they do as told, Sanchi starts speaking up – confessing that they were also as interested in searching for the criminal as the inspector himself!

‘Sanchi Mathur…we know you are a brave and clever girl’ Balram mocks her in reply ‘But your smartness is not going to save you now…or from the law…so stop creating a fuss and come with us now…if you both are so innocent, then why the need to run from the police?’
‘We had our own reasons to run…’ she admits modestly ‘And we have some very important things we want to tell you about’

She starts her ‘long-long-ago’ story right from the point when Sadanand had decided to usurp her property papers – her snooping on him – how they’d found out about Rubina – and then her newfound friendship with the lady – the fact they’d brought Rubina home and then finally their joint-plan of a kidnapping drama!
‘We had no intention of extorting money from Sadanand..the money was only meant for Rubina’s future! All I wanted was the property papers…’ Sanchi fills in

From there, her story then moves on to Mehek’s bday party – and then how the subsequent events unfolded after that right up to Rubina’s death!

‘Tell me inspector saab’ Indu chips in after the flashbacks eventually ended ‘If we’d murdered Rubina, do you think we would have written the ransom letter ourselves..or leave behind any proof?’

Nodding his head, the inspector answers dubiously ‘Fine… even if your story is true…why didn’t you come forth to tell us the truth?’

Tearful, Sanchi admits aloud ‘We were scared…we didn’t think you’ll believe us.. we had nothing to prove we were innocent!’

‘So then…how did you come to the conclusion that we’d believe you now? Do you think we’ll let you off scot free now?

While all of this is taking place behind closed doors in the hideout, two stooges deployed by the actual murderer are busy snooping on the events. They wonder aloud why the entire issue was taking so long.

Back to Sanchi’s confessions – which now seem to take an emotional turn – she reveals how they’d never do something as lowly as murder and that her only intentions are to return her parent’s pride and respect as before (with the RJN background music playing ofcourse!)
For a few moments, Balram appears a bit lost during Sanchi’s emotional dialogues. However, thankfully for him, his interest does return when he hears sanchi and Indu filling him in on the details of ‘The missing Mishraji’. (I’m sure his first reaction should’ve been of anger seeing how Mishraji had flatly refused that these 4 had anything to do with Rubina…but let’s forget about all that for now!)
Balram then learns that the lodge owner had wanted to tell the pair something about the murderer. He’d retrieved the address of their hiedout for the same and had since been missing.
The latest bank of information seems to send Balram into a spiral of thoughts. Pacing around the couple, he ultimately reveals that the station had received a call a short while ago – informing him about this hideout. However, the caller was anonymous!

‘So, don’t you find something strange now’ Sanchi queries the officer
Well I guess he sorta did, as he didn’t answer much!

Sanchi continues ‘I know the law too…and that if we didn’t surrender now…my property would be (arrgh property again!) usurped by the police…my parents would be left homeless… so please have confidence in me …just give us some time to prove our innocence…’
Thankfully for Manwa and Mehek, sanchi admits they were also being needlessly hassled due to all of this!

Letting out a huge sigh, Balram goes on to reveal that it was immoral to let go of culprits after apprehending them. However, he also adds that he trusted Sanchi – both, her values and her upbringing and hence felt obliged to give them 48 hours to prove their innocence.
At this point, even Indu appeared impressed (probably feeling he could use this tactic sometime in future!)

‘If you’re unable to prove your innocence by then, you’ll be arrested…’
Sanchi agrees to the inspector’s conditions and then sees them off at the door (LOL Just kidding)

The two goons waiting outside realize that Indu and Sanchi hadn’t been arrested and make the phonecall to inform their ‘boss’!

Once the police force leaves, Sanchi reminds Indu ‘See I told you…if we’d informed the police about all this earlier…probably the actual murderer would be behind bars by now’
Brushing off her claims, Indu argues back ‘What’s the point of discussing what’s already happened (Typical male!) Now the point we need to remember is that we have only 48 hours to find out the murderer… and if we fail in this aspect…our entire life will come to a standstill!’

PRECAP
Disguised as an old muslim couple (like the one from Hum kisi se kum nahin) Indu and Sanchi are on their way somewhere –
Just then, Sanchi nearly trips on her burkha but Indu holds her hand and supports her.
